Workshop for the Expedited International Travel Program defined for Fargo
FARGO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be hosting a Global Entry Registration Workshop September 20-22 for those interested in participating in the program that expedites the clearance of low-risk, pre-approved international travelers when they enter the United States at a participating airport.
Registrants entering a participating airport are processed using biometric identification at a designated kiosk rather than waiting in line for entry processing by a CBP officer.
Kiosks reduce waiting and processing times.
During registration workshops, CBP workers conduct interviews for conditionally approved Global Entry applicants.
CBP advises any applicant wishing to take advantage of the program to begin the application process immediately, as the verification process typically takes six to eight weeks for conditional approval.
For the Fargo event, the temporary registration center will be open from September 20-22.
Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 20, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 21 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 22.
The registration center will be located at 3803 20th St. N., just east of the Fargo Jet Center.

To become a Global Entry member, individuals must apply online, undergo a background investigation, and complete an in-person interview with a CBP officer.
If no disqualifying information is found, travelers are given expedited processing. The $ 100 application fee allows for five years of membership, and travelers can use nearly 300 kiosks located at 34 U.S. airports and 10 preclearance points in Canada and Ireland.
Global Entry also provides access to expedited screening through security checkpoints at national airports.
