Residency opportunity at Van Gogh House London

Working in London, like Vincent did

For this residency, Van Gogh House London is looking for two visual artists who are currently working as a duo, or who propose to work together for this project. Successful applicants will either be able to provide evidence of previous collaborative projects completed as an artist duo or have a clear plan and motivation to work together on this residency. Van Gogh House curators seek artists whose practice touches on themes that seem relevant to the house, ranging from materiality, layered histories, identity, migration, mental health and domestic space.

About the Van Gogh House of London

Van Gogh House is a 200-year-old house in south London, where the eponymous painter lived while in London aged 20. Sensitively preserved in 2018, the house tells the story of Van Gogh and the people who lived here before and after him, through its materiality as a building, the objects found under its floor and the letters that Van Gogh wrote since his bedroom. Now a place for exhibitions and artist residencies, the Maison Van Gogh’s mission is to support artists in their careers and in their lives. The program includes ambitious annual commissions as well as thoughtful residencies during which the house is closed to the public.
