The Academy’s graduate program for Excellence in Local Governance is designed to provide continuing education to public leaders in Maryland to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities. The graduate program is open to Academy scholars who have completed the Academy’s core program. Additional course offerings for the graduate program will be available.
The Academy for Excellence in Local Governance will offer “Managing the Cyber Security Problem” at LGIT on January 14, 2022. A brief description of the course is below:
This course explores the key issues facing policymakers attempting to manage the cybersecurity problem, including the technical foundations that underpin modern utilities, the threat landscape, and the strategic consequences and risks faced. the leaders. The course is designed for heads of government from counties and municipalities with little or no experience in information technology, and will provide the principles for understanding the current debates that are shaping a rapidly changing security landscape. The instructor will be Associate Research Professor Charlie Harry of the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland.
