Completion time: 30 minutes
Difficulty rating: 2/5
Get a little perspective
You will start in a large open courtyard, with lots to see. But to start, you’ll want to head to your left, inside an open doorway. When you enter, look at the back wall, in the far right corner, to know what to do first. You will see a whiteboard with the words:
“How to draw well:
Wait, that’s my grocery list…”
Ignore the off-putting last line, you need to find all three of these to move forward. Look to your right and you will see three lockers. The one on the left contains the “Open Sesame” array which we will need later. For now, the middle rack is what we want because it holds our bananas. Turn around and you should see some drawing easels. Next to these easels, there should be Cheese on a plate. Take this. Then finally, around the other end of the trestles is a bag containing a bottle of wine.
Now that you have all three list items, move to the display that the easels face. You will be able to interact with it and place the bananas, cheese and wine on it. When they’re all displayed, position yourself to look at them, and you’ll realize that they actually reveal a three-digit code:
If you now go back to the lockers, you will find that this code will unlock the lock on the right locker.
Grab the art supplies
With the case open, you can grab the anti-invisible ink that is inside. Until now, you might have wondered what all the marks were on the back wall in this room. Well, now is the time to reveal the mystery with the Anti-Invisible Ink. Go to the wall and use the ink to reveal a load of curvy lines. These lines actually tell you the color code of Slip’s desk lock.
The easiest way to do this is to start from the left, at the color lock, and follow the lines of each part of the code, to see what color they end up in. If your line ends in a strange shape with a “+” symbol, it just means that the color you need is a mixture of two colors, so follow these two new lines to get the primary colors and mix them to get your answer. Do this for all lines and you will have your code.
The correct code for Slip’s office is:
Violet (red and blue combined)
Green (Yellow and Blue combined)
Once inside Slip’s office, you can grab the spray paint to create your tag. Now all you have to do is go to the monument itself to complete your art.
Shred the paint
For this next step, you’ll want to use the “Open Sesame” paint you got from the locker earlier. To the right of the lockers is the shredding frame, where you can place the image to be shredded into vertical slices. Now you need to rearrange the image so that it forms a complete image. This should be easy enough to deduce, but if you get stuck, remember that the artist’s signature goes to the far left, followed by the girl with the balloon, then the girl with the popped balloon to the right.
When done correctly, you’ll hear the familiar Escape Academy tune, and you’ll also have the correct directional combination to the Art Lab.
Head to the Art Lab door opposite and enter the following code:
Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, Down
And enter the Art Lab
Explore the sculpture garden
In the Art Lab, you’ll eventually want to open the safe on the left as you enter, but to do that we’ll need to solve a few more puzzles first.
Start by using the scanner on the right side of the room. Use it on all four canvases. First take note of the photos on the first three canvases:
These will be needed in a moment. Then scan the final canvas which will detail 9 shapes on a 3×3 grid. It’s worth noting these shapes and their positions on a piece of paper for now (or use a co-op partner as a reference if you have one).
Now we have to go out and find the well, the cube sculpture and the keyhole sculpture. What you will notice when you find each of them is that they have a spray painted form of yellow paint. Take note of each. You should find that:
Well – Empty Place
Cube Sculpture – Empty Circle
Keyhole Sculpture – 3 Points
Now if you refer to your 3×3 grid, you will notice that these shapes are all present, and on the grid, they correspond to the following positions:
Well – Empty square – Middle row left
Cube Sculpture – Empty Circle – Middle Row Right
Keyhole Sculpture – 3 Points – Bottom Left Row
Now go back to the vault and press the buttons:
Middle row left, middle row right, bottom row left
Inside the safe you will find a strange sculpture as well as an image of a specific shape of vase.
Open the escape room
Return to the Sculpture Garden and head to the opposite side to a door with a face on it. Use the weird carving on the door to place his nose. You will now notice that you can modify the mouth, eyes and eyebrows on the face. The idea is that you have to get the right combination to unlock the door.
The key to this is the image of the vase you saw in the vault, as this outline shape will lead you to the truth. Along the same wall as the door are many variations of the face resting on vases of different shapes. You need to find the three vases that match the shape of the one you found in the vault. Each of these three face images will detail one of three feature combinations. Find them all, then duplicate the combination face to unlock the door. If you are having difficulty, you should do the following:
Eyes: Both look right
Eyebrows: both angled from lower left to upper right
Once you have the correct face. Use the nose knocker and the door will open.
The first gallery
Enter the escape room and in front of you is a statue. On either side of this statue is a key you can pick up – Key 2 and Key 5. You’ll see that there are three locked doors in front of you, each requiring keys to enter. Look up at the doors and you’ll find spray painted numbers inside. One is 5, another 10, and another 7. Since 2 + 5 = 7, we want to use our keys in door 7.
Once the door is unlocked, we must solve the puzzle of the first gallery. Here we are presented with four busts, and we have the option of moving them from side to side or keeping them facing forward. The key is to get the right combination to progress. The solution actually lies just outside the room. If you walk out of the gallery and turn around, you’ll notice that there are four pictures adorning the walls around the doorway. They each represent one of the busts and indicate in which direction they should be turned. Follow this and you will complete the puzzle. If you can’t, the solution is:
Megan: It’s true.
Belén: on the left
This will open an alcove behind the busts, where you can collect three more keys. They are key 3, key 4 and key 7.
The second gallery
The second gallery you will want to go to now is the gallery with 10 paintings above. Use key 3 and key 7 to unlock the door. This time we have 6 busts, and to solve the puzzle we have to break some busts. Again, finding the right combination of busts to crush and busts to leave alone is key.
As before, the clues are outside the room, and the image dictates various characters from the busts to pieces. You’ll want to break any bust that appears to pieces in these pictures and leave the rest. If you are struggling, the solution is that you need to smash the following busts:
Timmy, Michelle, Windsor
As before, completing the puzzle unlocks an alcove, and this time your reward is a unique key, Key 1.
The final gallery
It should be pretty clear what to do next. Take your new key 1 and use it with key 4 on the last remaining door. This unlocks the final gallery, with five busts this time, which must be placed in the correct order of height. Again use the outside images to guide you.
You’ll want to watch out for characters that are taller than the others in the pictures. But also note the size of some of the figures against a fence that is featured in a few images. This should give you everything you need to put them in the correct order, but if you need help, see the solution below:
women, man with glasses, woman with glasses, bald man in hat
This time, the back of the room reveals an exit down a few steps. Do it and you will reach the Monument. Use your spray paint to label it and complete the escape room.
