country artist to perform at Lake Metigoshe Music Festival | News, Sports, Jobs
LAKE METIGOSHE — Nashville country artist Frank Ray will take the stage at 6:25 p.m. tonight at Lando Live, a one-day music festival at Lake Metigoshe, north of Bottineau.
With songs like “The country would suit you well” Ray, was called “Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone magazine.
Ray is originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he served as a police officer for over 10 years. He said he decided at a crucial time in his life and with a new baby in 2017, to quit his career and pursue his dream of being a full-time singer.
Ray said he gained some notoriety in Las Cruces, winning a battle of the band contest and being rewarded opening for Keith Urban. rMost recently he opened for Luke Combs, playing to a crowd of 65,000.
“Getcha Some”‘ will be the title track of Ray’s debut EP which will be released in August. Ray said “Getcha Some” was his symbolic phrase throughout his police career and is a fitting tribute to perseverance as he did at the police academy. He said he’s now from Nashville, and “This is where you need to be to be successful in this industry.”
