Artworks Gallery offers a Spring Landscape watercolor workshop

The Art Gallery will be hosting a Spring Landscape in Watercolor Workshop on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gallery located at 109 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls.

Workshop instructor Roberta Nelson says, “You will learn the basics of painting spring landscapes by applying various principles of composition. I will explain various watercolor techniques, types of landscape compositions, including aerial perspective. I will also cover the use of value masses, light, ground shadows, tree shapes and cloud formations.

Participants should bring watercolor paints (if using paints in tubes, do not use paints that indicate hues), brushes, 140 lbs. weight watercolor paper, a board larger than the size of the paper to stretch the paper, masking tape, paper towels, a container of water, and a photo of the scene to be painted. Some landscape photos are available at the workshop.

The cost of each workshop is $40. Registration required before May 9 by contacting the instructor at [email protected] or call 315-549-8323.
